2010 Farm Season

This weekend has been a very hot and humid weekend - makes for long days. Saturday planted oats, picked rocks up out of one of our fields (makes the leg muscles work), picked strawberries to make a nice cold refreshing desert (snack) Sunday BAILED - two wagon loads - HOT HOT HOT - which took all day cause we took breaks in between loads so we didn't over heat. Its only spring and its 90 degrees - August is going to be CRAZY

2010 Farm Season

All of our babies have arrived - Blossom, Lettuce, Annabelle, Buttercup, Firecracker, and Sadie Kay. Everyone is doing great and enjoying their fresh spring pasture. So much is going on:
* planting fields
* last weekend we cut our first cutting of hay, round bailed it and wrapped it (trying to dodge the rain drops)
* keeping weeds out of flower beds and garden
* making sure fencing stays up while cows try to eat the grass under the fence when there's grass they haven't ate three steps in front of them
* chicks have been moved to their outdoor home (enjoying their fresh grass and bugs)
* keeping the grass cut
* milking cows morning and night

AND PLENTY MORE...........................
